Most major cities in the UK have direct train services into Manchester. Major intercity services run into Manchester Piccadilly, a superb modern station with outstanding facilities and excellent travel connections. Manchester Victoria, Deansgate, Oxford Road, Warrington Bank Quay and Stockport stations offer further travel connections to destinations throughout the country.

Virgin Trains now run a fleet of trains with journey times of just over two hours between Manchester and London. For more information on tickets and timetables visit National Rail Enquiries.

Travelling to events outside Manchester city centre across the northwest region is simple too, with regular services to other mainline stations in the area including Bolton, Warrington and Preston and the more rural retreats of Cheshire and the Pennines.

Free Metroshuttle buses run between the main stations and tram stops, dropping off and picking up throughout the city centre at main car parks and shopping areas.

Manchester Metrolink, the city’s innovative tram system, serves local destinations throughout the city centre and beyond with a frequent service running from early morning to late at night. Piccadilly and Victoria have direct Metrolink connections. System One Travelcards can be used on buses, trains and trams within the city.
